Agreeing to these terms
These terms cover your use of this website and any work you hire Cornerstone Tampa Concrete and Masonry to do. By using the site, asking for an estimate or booking a job with us, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site or book work with us.
If a signed estimate or contract for your job says something different from these terms, the signed document controls for that job.
What we do
Cornerstone Tampa Concrete and Masonry is a masonry contractor in Tampa, FL, and we also do concrete work. Our services include brick and block work, stone and veneer, pavers, walkways, retaining walls, chimneys, fireplaces, outdoor kitchens and foundation repair for homes in Tampa and the cities around it. You can read more about who we are on our About page.
The service descriptions on this site are general. They explain how this kind of work usually goes, and they aren't a promise of any result on your property until we've seen it and given you a written estimate.
Estimates and pricing
Estimates are free and done at your property, because we can't price masonry fairly without seeing the wall, the ground and the access. Your written estimate lists the work, the materials and the price, and it stays good for the period it states.
Some conditions only show up once the job is open, like a cracked footing, damaged framing behind old veneer, or roots and debris under a slab. When that happens, we'll stop, show you what we found and give you the added cost in writing before we go on. We won't charge you for extra work you haven't approved.
Changes you ask for after signing, such as a different paver or a longer wall, are priced as a written change to your estimate before we do them.
Scheduling, weather and cancellation
We set a start date with you when you book. Rain, heat, material delays and conditions we find on site can move that date, because mortar and concrete need the right conditions to set properly, and we'll tell you as soon as a date changes.
You can cancel or reschedule by calling (813) 471-5857 or through our contact page. Please give us as much notice as you can. If you cancel after we've ordered materials for your job or started work, you're responsible for materials we can't return and for work already done.
We may reschedule or cancel if the site is unsafe, the work area isn't accessible, or an approval your job needs isn't in place. If we cancel before starting, we'll refund any deposit for work we haven't done.
Your part of the job
Please make sure our crew can reach the work area, and tell us where your property lines are if the work runs near them. Tell us before work starts about anything buried in the work area, like irrigation lines, landscape lighting or septic parts, because we can't be responsible for damage to items we weren't told about.
Payment
Your written estimate states what's due and when. Larger jobs may call for a deposit before we order materials, with payments as stages are finished and the balance due when the work is complete.
If a payment is late, we may pause work until it's made. Unpaid balances may also be subject to reasonable collection costs and any other remedies the law allows.
Our guarantee and what it doesn't cover
We're licensed and insured, and our work is backed by our satisfaction guarantee. If something we built isn't right, call us and we'll come look at it. Any specific written warranty for your job is the one stated in your estimate or contract.
Masonry and concrete are natural materials, so some things are normal and aren't defects. Hairline cracks from concrete shrinking as it cures, small differences in color and texture between bricks, stones or pavers, and new mortar that doesn't exactly match old mortar are all expected.
Our guarantee doesn't cover damage from soil movement under ground we didn't prepare, tree roots, flooding or drainage problems outside our work, storms, vehicles heavier than the work was built for, repairs by others, or a lack of normal upkeep. Warranties on materials such as pavers, veneer or fireplace units come from their makers, and we pass them along as they're given.
Apart from what we put in writing for your job, this website and its content are provided as is, without warranties of any kind.
Limits on our liability
As far as the law allows, Cornerstone Tampa Concrete and Masonry isn't liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses that come from our work or from using this site, such as lost use of part of your property or the cost of temporary arrangements. Our total liability for any claim about a job is limited to the amount you paid us for that job.
Nothing in these terms limits any liability that the law doesn't allow us to limit.
Settling a disagreement
If you're unhappy with any part of the job, call us first at (813) 471-5857 or reach us through our contact page. Most problems get solved with a site visit and a straight conversation, and we'll work in good faith to make it right.
If we can't settle it that way, we both agree to try mediation before filing a lawsuit, unless the claim belongs in small claims court.
Which law applies
These terms and any work we do are governed by the laws of the State of Florida. Any lawsuit about them will be brought in the state courts serving Hillsborough County, Florida, unless the law requires a different place.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version posted on this page applies to your use of the site from the time it's posted, and the terms in place when you sign an estimate apply to that job.
If you have a question about any of this, get in touch through our contact page and we'll answer it.
